Teaching Hotel Château Bethlehem
Teaching Hotel Château Bethlehem (THCB) is the practical learning environment for the Hotel Management School Maastricht (HMSM) students and is an integral part of the educational program. The Teaching Hotel consists of 26 rooms and suites, a bar, a restaurant as well as several meeting and banqueting spaces and offers HMSM students an innovative learning experience on all levels; from the daily operations to managerial tasks. With the inspiring concept that the Teaching Hotel embodies, a unique selling point for both students and employees of the HMSM is created. The hotel is a real commercial hotel, run as an educational environment. Our guests have real expectations and are looking, also in the Teaching Hotel, for the hotel experience. This gives the position an extra dimension on top of regular operational and administrative responsibilities.

Requirements

Our Teaching Hotel team is a mix of national and international coaches, interns, and part time HMSM students, as well as weekly rotating first-year HMSM students. It is a dynamic team where your opinion and initiatives are highly appreciated. All team members are passionated about their profession, inspiring and quality focused. As a team player you are flexible, reliable, integer and you have excellent communication skills.

Company profile

As a RDM-supervisor you will work shifts independently at the Front Office department of our hotel. You will be partly responsible for the daily operations and standards of the Front Office department (assisting students in welcoming guests, making reservations, phone handling etc.). While training-on-the-job you are supervising and managing our first-year practical students. You observe and
co-assess students on a daily basis. To our students you are focused on developing students, and you have an eye for recognizing and stimulating individual talent. It’s also important to stimulate own initiative and individual responsibility by the students.

Benefits

A position of 0.6 FTE, in a salary scale awarded depending on your qualifications and experience at level 6, min. €2490 – max. €3408 for a full-time appointment. To this is added holiday allowance (8%) and a fixed year-end bonus (8.3%), a generous number of holidays, professionalization and employability hours and a complete offer to work vitally and with pleasure.
You will get a chance to gain supervisory experience in the RDM department. We also support training courses in first responder roles (BHV & BBMI).

We are looking for a RDM supervisor to cover a colleague’s maternity leave. Start of the position is on January 6th 2025. It’s important to be a good ambassador, a host/hostess for the Teaching Hotel’s guests and students.
You are open to working shifts (from 6:45 – 15:00 or 14:45 – 23:00) 7 days a week. For 0,6 fte you have to be available 3 days a week. Working hours are always scheduled by mutual agreement, where we try to find a healthy work-life balance.
