Erik has been working for Zuyd for over two years as a Quality Advisor in the Facilities Management Department. In his role, he focuses on improving quality and processes within the organization.
A working day at Zuyd
What does Erik like about Zuyd? The variety. A typical workday starts with a cup of coffee and a quick chat with colleagues. After that, he alternates between meetings and tasks that require his full concentration. Sometimes he also works from home for a few hours. “I really enjoy the variety in my work. I’m constantly dealing with different topics.”
Erik is particularly drawn to the interplay between education, sustainability, and business operations. “It’s precisely that combination that makes Zuyd so interesting. You work in an environment where different worlds come together.”
From Student to Colleague: Erik Feels at Home at Zuyd
In his role, Erik doesn’t have daily contact with students. Yet he is indirectly close to them. Through internships and project assignments, the department collaborates with students, thereby contributing to the development of the professionals of the future. This is a great example of how Zuyd collaborates in a close-knit, sincere, and trusting manner.
Erik was already familiar with Zuyd before he started working there. He had studied at the university of applied sciences himself and knew people in his circle who worked there. So when the opening for his current position came up, he didn’t have to think twice. “The impression I had of Zuyd turned out to be accurate. It’s a great organization where colleagues are open and helpful.”
Would Erik recommend Zuyd as an employer? He’s already done so several times. “You want others to have a good employer.” With a smile, he adds, “It’s a shame Zuyd doesn’t offer referral bonuses.”
