Chinese lecturer and mentor in the International Communication and Languages program.
She has been teaching at Zuyd since 2013. She has a background as a teacher of Chinese as a second language and lived and worked in China before moving to the Netherlands. Knowing that there was a program in Maastricht that offered Chinese, she obtained her international teaching certification before leaving. “When I arrived here, I was able to start teaching right away.”
Ling teaches first- and second-year students and encourages them to work independently. This way, students learn to conduct their own research, identify problems, and solve them on their own. “I mainly guide their learning process and only provide answers when they really need help.”
In addition, she serves as a mentor and guides students throughout their studies. She listens carefully to them and truly tries to see things from their perspective.
This aligns with Zuyd’s core values: close-knit, sincere, and trusting.

Ling feels right at home at Zuyd. She enjoys working in an international environment where intercultural communication plays a key role. “At Zuyd, there’s a strong focus on employee well-being, both physical and mental. You’re also given the opportunity to continue developing yourself, for example through training programs.”
