Management Assistant

As management assistant, you will be a strong support within Zuyd, domain Hospitality, helping colleagues, coordinating activities, organizing events and contributing to research and education. About the position

As management assistant, you play a central role in supporting the domain Hospitality through a variety of key activities. You provide support to the Professors of the Research Centres Global Minds @ Work, Future of Food, and Facility Management, assist the Knowledge Centre of the Maastricht economic domain which the research centres are part of, and support the coordination of the Master Facility and Real Estate Management.

1. Support to the Research Centers

You will support three professors who are each responsible for a research center (Global Minds @ Work, Future of Food, Facility Management):

• Assisting with agenda management, research projects, partner relations, presentations, events and organization of trips and training sessions

• Responsible for the distribution of the Global Mind Monitor as part of curriculum

• Coordinating and supporting activities in the Food experience lab

• Supporting activities in the Lectoraat.FM, preparing inauguration.

• Taking the lead in organizing events hosted by the research centers

2. Support the Knowledge Centre

The Knowledge center is a collaboration of five Research centers: Global Minds@Work, Future of Food, Facility Management, Professional Communication in Digitalizing Society  and Sustainable International Business.

• Coordinating and supporting activities: agenda management, supporting research day, supporting visitation 2027

3. Support the Master Facility and Real Estate Management

You will support the senior lecturer who is responsible for the coordination of the Master Facility and Real Estate Management (FREM) of the Academy of Facility Management (FM).

• Coordinate programme administration and operations, including student admissions and enrolment, academic scheduling, examination processes, and the management of programme documentation.

• Support quality assurance and accreditation activities by coordinating module evaluations, analysing feedback, preparing reports, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Act as a key liaison between stakeholders, maintaining effective communication with lecturers, students, alumni, and international partners to ensure smooth programme delivery.

• Contribute to programme development and organisation, including supporting Education and Examination Regulations (EER/OER), coordinating meetings and follow-up actions, organising the annual study trip, and strengthening international collaborations.

Domain Hospitality

The domain hospitality of Zuyd consists of the Hotel Management School in Maastricht (HMSM) and the Academy Facility Management (FM).

The working environment

As a management assistant, you play an essential role in our hospitality community by providing the structure, coordination, and support that helps colleagues work effectively and ensure everything runs smoothly. Your base will be mostly in Maastricht and sometimes in Heerlen.

What are we looking for?

• You work in a structured and accurate manner while maintaining an overview.

• You communicate clearly and professionally, being able to provide brief instructions and support to both staff and students

• You take initiative, think ahead, and act proactively, independently and as part of a team

• You feel at home in an international and intercultural environment with a near-native command of both Dutch and English (spoken and written)

• You hold at least a MBO level 4 education

What we offer:

• Vacancy for 0,6-0,8 FTE, classified in scale 7 according to the collective labour agreement for universities of applied sciences (cao-hbo). This corresponds to a minimum of € 2.950,65 and a maximum of € 4.084,93 gross per month based on a full‑time appointment.

• Candidates may apply for the full position (0,8 FTE), the research & knowledge center part (0,6 FTE) or solely for the FREM component of the role (0.2 FTE).

• The position is classified in scale 7. Internal candidates currently employed in scale 8 are also welcome to apply.

• The starting date is November 1st , 2026.
